AT&T Fiber Internet Service
Ultra High Speed Internet Platform
– AT&T Fiber
A demand for higher download and upload Internet connection speeds constantly grows. This is caused by using Internet for various services and activities, including TV and telephone services, online video watching and downloading, or online gaming. Many people conduct work from their homes which may require them to have highest possible Internet connection speed in order to do their day to day tasks without interruption. Various applications and multimedia being run on websites we visit also add up to the total Internet connection speed requirement.
To address the demand, Internet service providers keep pushing the speed limits by using new ways and technologies in how they bring the service to their customers' homes.
One of such services is provided by AT&T, using the fiber based Internet service platform (formerly GigaPower) in order to deliver High Speed Internet at rates of up to 1 Gbps.

What is AT&T Fiber? – Technical Overview
AT&T Fiber Internet service is 100% fiber-optic network which allows Internet speed to be up to 1 Gbps. Fiber optic networks use optical cables that transfer data at the speed of light. Such high speed helps AT&T deliver advanced U-verse TV services, faster in-home WiFi, and a possibility of downloading HD movie in less than a minute! In addition, this will allow service users to watch and record multiple simultaneous HD streams. This would also include a DVR device with bigger storage capacity that would be around 1 TB (1 terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes).
